During the breeding season, up to 50 males will gather together in a communal clearing known as a lek to participate in a group mating ceremony. Each male perches proudly on a branch or a rock ledge, striving to capture the attention of visiting females by displaying his prominent, discoid crest and emitting a series of loud, distinctive vocalizations.
Nesting and Parental Care
Following the elaborate courtship displays and subsequent mating, the female takes full responsibility for the next stages of life. She constructs a sturdy nest utilizing mud, carefully positioning it in a protected spot on a rock face or inside a secluded cave.
