Its primary prey consists almost exclusively of shelled pteropods, commonly known as ‘sea devils’ (Limacina helicina). When hunting, the Sea Angel transforms dramatically, ambushing its prey and using specialized tentacles to extract the sea devil from its protective shell. This striking contrast between its serene appearance and ferocious hunting strategy makes it one of the marine world’s most captivating carnivores.
